Prevent use of vehicles as weapons in terror attacks

The Department for Transport has issued guidance for operators and drivers of commercial vehicles to prevent criminals and terrorists accessing the vehicles. It applies to any commercial vehicle, large or small. This isn’t law (as yet!) and includes requirements such as:

· Checking drivers’ references and previous employment history

· Visual checks of vehicles for signs of tampering

· Develop security management plans

· Assessment of risk exposures

· Management and accountability for security

You can read all of this in PAS29000:2021
